I did tear the outer layer just a tiny bit pulling it with a rope I'd fish-taped through a confined crawlspace trench I had to hand-excavate. Attaching it firmly to the flanges worked well however the Hose Clamp, or Radiator Clamp style items supplied were some metric size I had no socket bit for. So, picture a guy on his back in dirt with spider webs hanging down trying to use a flathead driver on his drill to tighten a long long long clamp. One spider said: Hey, how-ya-doin?" I have patience. I attached it to one flange from inside the home, the other from underneath. Both ends were easier than expected. This is a quality product, but fragile as you might imagine.
