It wasn't just the effectiveness that caught my attention; the clean and pleasant smell it left behind was a refreshing change from the usual chemical odours one might expect from such products. The ease of use is a big plus—no complicated measuring or mixing is required. The clear instructions made it a breeze to administer the initial dose (100 ml per 1,000 litres of water), and the weekly maintenance dose (30 ml per 1,000 litres) seems straightforward enough to keep up with. Although I have not observed a significant reduction in scale build-up as of yet, I remain hopeful. The product seems promising, and I believe a bit more time is needed to see full results. All in all, the Pro-Kleen Hot Tub & Spa ScaleStop has made hot tub maintenance much simpler and more pleasant. I'll keep using it and would recommend it to others looking to keep their spa water clean and scale-free. Time will indeed tell, but for now, I'm giving it a solid four stars! ## Features - Causes serious eye damage. - Causes skin irritation. - Part of the best-selling Pro-Kleen Hot Tub & Spa Range - Quickly removes limescale deposits caused by unbalanced pH levels - Controls and helps prevent future build up of limescale in your hot tub or spa - This is a unique, neutral formula - will not affect bromine or chlorine levels - Helps to prolong the life of your hot tub's pump! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B06XNMXLCH | | Best Sellers Rank | 27,752 in Garden ( See Top 100 in Garden ) 93 in Pool & Hot Tub Cleaning Products | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (632) | | Date First Available | 15 Mar. 2017 | | Item display weight | 5 Kilograms | | Item model number | 251646 | | Manufacturer | Pro-Kleen | | Part number | 251646 | | Product Dimensions | 28 x 18 x 13 cm; 5 kg | | Volume capacity | 5 Litres | ## Images ![5L of Pro-Kleen ScaleStop Hot Tub & Spa Descaler - Limescale Removal & Prevention Inhibitor - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71nY6VnHkJL.jpg) ![5L of Pro-Kleen ScaleStop Hot Tub & Spa Descaler - Limescale Removal & Prevention Inhibitor - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81EmbC0vijS.jpg) ![5L of Pro-Kleen ScaleStop Hot Tub & Spa Descaler - Limescale Removal & Prevention Inhibitor - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Td44Iiq3S.jpg) ![5L of Pro-Kleen ScaleStop Hot Tub & Spa Descaler - Limescale Removal & Prevention Inhibitor - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/819SV0MavWS.jpg) ![5L of Pro-Kleen ScaleStop Hot Tub & Spa Descaler - Limescale Removal & Prevention Inhibitor - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81JtMaoBjpS.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: When you use descale in portable hot tub can you use it at the same time or do have to empty** A: You can use it. I find if you use bubbles then a lot of foam forms after using this. Also there is temporary cloudiness and sediment but this is the product doing its job separating out the chalky substances to stop it damaging your pump and heater. **Q: Can this be used to descale the pump?** A: Yes if you arrange to pump in and out of say a bucket containing hot water and the Pro-Klean, then after a while, empty the bucket, fill it with clean water and flush the pump again to get rid of the chemicals. **Q: Does this have to be used every week? Is there a process that can be done when filled and have to be done again until filled again?** A: You put a large dose in for a new fill or first use, then just a small amount top up every week. I use it after the weekly shock treatment so I don’t forget. **Q: I have the hot tub descaler tool for the pump (lay-z-spa st moritz), how much of this do i actually need to put in to clean out the pump? thanks** A: I think it’s 30ml, it tells you the measurements on the back of the container. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product and price *by M***G on 3 April 2025* Excellent product and price, works really well ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective and Pleasantly Scented Scale Preventative for Hot Tubs *by D***D on 17 April 2024* I recently tried the Pro-Kleen Hot Tub & Spa ScaleStop for my spa, and I was impressed with the immediate foaming action as soon as I poured it in.
