The material is quite tough in normal use. I have sieved soil and loose stones in mine, to stop the piles spreading out before I use the contents next year. Having often used tonne bags for these types of jobs, I can confirm that they are correctly sized, and of industrial strength. After reading other comments which complain that the bags fray when dragged on the ground, I would suggest to the reviewers that they have purchased something unsuited to their needs; large bags containing heavy weights require mechanical lifting (hence the corner loops) -- You wouldn't drag your groceries along the footpath just because they're in a 'bag for life'!To conclude, correctly sized, super-strong and keenly priced tonne bags, which were delivered promptly after purchase.
