Have attached it as per picture on a thermostatic bar mixer and used to relieve stress on the shower hose, whilst there is no rim in the female end for a washer to seat against I left one in and have had no leaks yet, the other end is attached to the shower hose and sits well with the washer in there. Ie the male end remains static** A: No: the male end rotates as the female is rotated. The male has a slightly tapered end and you adjust the position where it stops by using PTFE tape and/or jointing compound. **Q: I bought this to go on my shower because the hose rubs on the bath as others have stated but it keeps leaking? Am I missing something? Help!** A: If it is the female end, use ptfe tape on the fitting entering it.
