Review: Solid camera (Compared to GoPro Hero 10) - I have a GoPro hero 10 and I bought this camera just to have for personal use. I really don’t know a great deal about cameras and all the technical terms and functions but I do know a little just from using the GoPros that I have had in the past and I can say for the money this camera is worth the money. In a side by side comparison of the Hero 10 and this unit the quality of video is greater from the GoPro there is no denying that but when you compare it $ for $ and look at what you get with this unit and all the extras that you need to buy with the GoPro if you want for example better audio by connecting a shotgun mic or wireless mics then you need the media mod for the GoPro, where as with this unit I was able to connect a wired mic to the USB-C port using a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter one that would typically allow you to connect wired headphones to a USB-C type smartphone. That being said I have a set of wireless mics that allow for the mics to be set into slave and master modes and then I connect the master into the adapter and then to the camera and I was able to enhance the sound. I usually record mostly in 1080 HD for a couple of reason because 1) I record with my GoPro at the same time and I record with my GoPro at 5K and 5K takes up a lot more space than 1080p on a disk or streaming them from my server to my devices it takes longer to load or download etc. 2) The AKASO doesn’t really shoot in 4K in my opinion because the clarity is just not there if you look at the side by side with an actual 4K video from the GoPro it’s not even comparable. This would be my only criticism of the unit but it isn’t a deal breaker for me and it may in fact shoot at 4k but maybe it is the FPS like I said I am not an expert with cameras I’m a layman so my reasoning my be off but the quality is nevertheless in the favor of the GoPro. I do like how the camera comes with 2 batteries and a charging bank that’s nice it has many of tripod accessories and mounting hardware adapters, I also personally love how the camera will record and not stop until it either runs out of battery or you shut it off. The camera is a bit light in weight but it has proven rather durable because my 2-3 year old has gotten ahold of it many times over the last year and he is hard on anything this camera being no exception but it has had no problems and I can’t say the same for my GoPro it is in fact no longer functioning as the camera had some type of short circuit or something to that effect involving the battery and it died so the AKASO has outlived my hero 10 and the hero 10 never had any contact with the baby so I don’t know what happened with it but the AKASO has been solid.
Review: Best Bang for your Buck. - This is great for getting started. The video and camera quality are awesome. All the accessories in this kit are very good quality, they don't feel like the cheap chinese stuff. So far my batteries have lasted a very long time. The audio is great and picks up everything. All of the locks are super stabil and give you trust that the camera is going to stay exactly where you set it. Connecting to the camera and app was easy. I haven't paid attention to the autofocus feature yet, but that's probable cause the picture quality is so good I didn't even notice the function working.

**Q: I bought a sandisk ultra microsdxc uhs-i and the camera will not read the card. which card do i need to buy so it works?**
A: We recommend you to use class 10 max 64gb micro sd card. If your card is under 64gb, format it in the camera or your computer before using.
If it is 64gb or more, you need to format the card in your camera before using. 
About how to format the sd card, inset the card into camera in right way, then go to setting, find "format the card" setting, do it.

**Q: How long is the recording time for this? can it be extended?**

A: My camera is progressive, but it is in increments of .5 zoom.  ie.  it goes from 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x etc to 5x.

A: Were you able to format it or did you go to a smaller gb card? just bought the camera & bought a 256gb card to go with it and having that same issue

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid camera (Compared to GoPro Hero 10)

I have a GoPro hero 10 and I bought this camera just to have for personal use. This is great for getting started. The video and camera quality are awesome. All the accessories in this kit are very good quality, they don't feel like the cheap chinese stuff. So far my batteries have lasted a very long time. The audio is great and picks up everything. All of the locks are super stabil and give you trust that the camera is going to stay exactly where you set it. Connecting to the camera and app was easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good camera at a reasonable cost for the casual user

I also own an Akaso EK 7000 model so it’s safe to say I liked that camera enough to buy this model. I bought it several years ago and is still working fine tho the batteries don’t last as long as they used to. Replacement batteries are available to purchase and it seems reasonable to me that the batteries after years of use lose their ability to hold a charge. The remote is useful and works properly. Pros: As I said it takes quality pictures and videos. It’s pretty easy to use but comes with no instructions. You need to download them, not a big deal. And, with them, the camera is pretty easy to set up and use. For video, it offers a lot of choices for resolution and other settings. It comes with a decent amount of mounts and attachments (caveats below). All in all, a pretty good alternative for the casual user especially compared to the way more expensive GoPro and other high-end cameras. I have not used this camera underwater but I have used the EK7000 a few times and had no problems with leaks. The cases are similar so I have no reason to believe this one won’t be waterproof. Cons: While there is an ample supply of different mounts, some of them are not that good and the hard smooth plastic they are made of makes it difficult to tighten them enough so they don’t stay in place especially if you’re, for instance mounting them on something that gets jostled a lot, like a bicycle. (See below.) The handles for tightening the mounts are small which means I have to use a small screwdriver to tighten them enough to keep them in place. That’s not terrible but it does make switching between mounts a bit of a hassle. I mainly use the camera on my bike and the bike mount is perhaps the worst of all. Firstly, it’s too small to fit around your average handle bars. Tightening the screws puts a lot of pressure on the mount and I could see them snapping if you tightened them too much. I could not tighten them enough to get them from swing back and forth. I had to jerryrig the mounts for both the EK7000 and this camera using rubber gaskets (I used some from an old bike headlight.) and some thick double-sided, foam mounting tape. (The accessories that came with both cameras are identical, except for the underwater case which differs only to adapt for the different placement of some of the cameras’ buttons.) Including some sizing gaskets/rubber strips as adapters would help solve the bike mounting problem But another thing about it is that the mount for the bike, without a go-between adapter (included) leaves the camera facing to the side of the bike, not facing forward. This is another design flaw I can’t figure out. Also of note: I actually like the design of the EK7000 better! They removed a flashing recording button on the top of the EK7000 to screen on the back of the Brave 4. The EK 7000 also showed the recording status on the back screen so I guess the top light was redundant but it made it MUCH easier to tell that the camera is recording while riding a bike (or quickly from a distance) when that large flashing red light was on the top and I could just look down. Now, I have to get off the bike and check the back of the Brave 4 to make sure that the camera has not stopped recording. (ie: out of battery power or recoding space, wherein the camera turns off) There’s an LED type screen on the front of the Brave 4 that I can’t figure out the purpose for. The same info it displays is on the back screen and I don’t see the need for the front screen. I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something there. I purchased the Brave 4 instead of another EK7000 because, 1) I thought it would be an improved model and indeed, some of the functions are, and 2) because the Brave comes with the mounting attachments (however flawed) included. (There are not a lot of other options when looking for alternatives. Though they come under other brand names the different packages offered on Amazon all look mysteriously similar.) When I purchased the EK 7000, it also came with all the mounts included. But now it seems it doesn’t and they need to be purchased separately. The price of the Brave 4 with the attachments was just a few dollars more that buying the EK 7000 plus the mounting accessories separately so I figured, what the heck, I’ll go for the Brave 4. In retrospect, I could have saved a few bucks and been just as happy buying another, less expensive EK7000 and the mounts separately.
