Tiny Footprint Coffee offers a USDA Organic, Fair Trade Certified medium roast ground coffee sourced from sustainably grown Arabica beans. It is the world’s first carbon negative coffee, with proceeds funding reforestation in Ecuador’s Mindo Cloud Forest that removes significantly more CO2 than the coffee’s production emits. Small batch roasted in a vintage German drum roaster, it delivers a smooth, balanced flavor with caramel and citrus notes, while supporting local farmers and environmental restoration.

## Description

Tiny Footprint Coffee, the world’s first carbon negative coffee. Through a unique collaboration between Roastery 7 and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, one an Artisan coffee roastery and the other a nonprofit conservation organization, the two teamed up to create the ultimate combination of good karma. So, how is our coffee carbon negative you might ask? It’s simple, really. It takes 4 lbs. of CO2 to produce and distribute 1 lb. of our coffee. For every pound that’s sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to fund reforestation in Ecuador’s Mindo cloud forest. Over time, these trees will remove 54 lbs. of CO2 from the atmosphere. You see? More CO2 removed than emitted.Our reforestation efforts along the Northwestern Andes of Ecuador help to plant native tree species throughout the Mindo Cloud Forest region in heavily deforested areas. These trees not only sequester massive amounts of carbon from the air, but also provide habitat to hundreds of local bird species, reinforce soil conservation techniques, and rebuild water tables. The Mindo Cloudforest Foundation works directly with local landowners to provide jobs related to the care and redevelopment of the cloud forest.Making coffee great takes time, effort and passion. **Q: Rocking the fair trade label but the description says “most often fair trade” so they only use slave labor sometimes?**
A: "Fair Trade" isn't what it was 20 years ago.  I'm surprised they have it on there at all.

**Q: Is there a roast date on the bag? How far past that date does theshipped product tend to be?**
A: i didn't buy it for myself, it was a gift for my son-in -law.  The item arrived fast, it didn't take long for the item to arrive, and he loved it.   As ff s a roast date I didn't notice.

**Q: Is this from ecuador or peru?  mindo is in ecuador, not peru.  given the dislike between the two countries, i am confused.**
A: The coffee beans are from Cajamarca in Peru, but there is a collaboration between Tiny Footprint and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ To replace coffee when having stomach problems

My great mother did not like blue dandelion because it reminded her of WWII when there was no coffee available, but she always précised that chicoree was much healthier than coffee. I love Italian coffee, but at the moment it is not an option, so naturally I thought of my distant cajun cousins in New Orleans who drink chicoree mixed with coffee. I wanted a brand with a product that would not be too processed. This one I did not know promotes a natural and organic product. The price is reasonable, especially because there is 1 pound in the package. It is written tiny footprint, eco-friendly already ground product, but it stills come from Peru... anyway the taste is good. I recommend two teaspoons for a single cup. Contrarily to the French one, this one is not soluble. Use a French press eventually but let the chicoree pieces sit a little bit for a better and denser flavor. Chicoree or blue dandelion contains zinc, vitamin C, beta-carotene (eyes and skin) and magnesium (which is good for the neurologic system and helps if you are anxious). Suppositively, it would benefit the digestive function. Plants have medicinal properties and what is good for me might not be great for you. That being said anything that one drinks, or eats, should be with moderation and common sense.
