I want to fill some cracks in my inglenook behind a log burner and want to make sure this can stand the heat.** A: No good. Use firebrick cement. **Q: is it suitable for tiling over as removing old tiles in my kitchen has left gaps along with new electric work so need to repair walls before retiling** A: It's a very light weight product designed really for filling in small cracks. If u need to build up deeper damage I wouldn't advise as it's simply v soft. Feels like a v light dry fluff. For deeper area that structurally need built up u would b better to use a "deep crack" filler. U can then even put slight irregularities using one strike which is brilliant by the way. **Q: Is this good for faint cracks on wall** A: yes it will work well, it is still has very good flexibility, but best to make the crack slightly wider with a small craft knife or a flat bladed screw driver as it will need to have some thing to hand on to and always spray water on the area to be filled just before starting. **Q: Can this be used on artex ceilings?** A: As in to fill a small/medium hole or crack in the ceiling? In that case I don't see why not, you could probably use it on any surface, it adheres fairly well and you can sand it down to the right texture once it has dried. If you tried to recover an entire ceiling you might have some difficulty as it is very lightweight and could end up falling everywhere, not easy to manipulate into patterns like you would with artex I expect. Genuinely a top product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Filler If Used As Intended (Not a Structural Filler) *by S***J on 30 September 2020* Good filler if used as intended. Has a light, creamy consistency and can be applied by plastic or metal tools. Be aware this is a ‘cosmetic’ filler, not a structural filler, so must not be drilled to use wall plugs. This filler even when dry and painted over is not totally hard (you can push your finger nail into it). So not for any areas which could be subject to any impact. Very easy to use and can be sanded. I’ve used it to fill holes left by wall plugs, even out slight imperfections in plaster walls and fill a gap between a UPVC window frame window sill (great for that as the filler seems like it will not crack over time). Also worth mentioning it doesn’t shrink back while drying.
