It’s a very cute and functional butter dish. —————————————————- The butter dish is great, well that is to say that it WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF …it didn’t come with a SHATTERED bottom piece. :-( I’m so bummed! The entire bottom plate was shattered into pieces! These dishes are expensive and it literally had ZERO protective measures taken for such a fragile item during shipping. There was ZERO protection in or around the item, just one little layer of cardboard…that’s it! I’m sure this will soon be a favorite piece of kitchenware in our home when we finally get the piece replaced with one that is not broken. Haha I have to say that at least they made the process of replacing it a breeze with GREAT customer service! :-)

We love the “Le Creuset Stoneware Heritage Butter Dish”, it’s just the right size, it’s made well, and it’s easy to wash. This butter dish is the epitome of fancy stoneware. My husband, a potter himself, even gave his potter's seal of approval. It's heavy, the lid sits well into the base with a snug fit - as if these pieces were made to go together - and it appears to be pretty traditional and easy to use. I would recommend.
