Product Description THE TRAITORS CARD GAME A GAME OF TRUST AND TREACHERY Trust no one in this darkly dramatic family game. Players work together to collect a hoard of golden treasure, but danger is lurking. Among you are Traitors - and every time Night falls there's a good chance someone will attempt to commit murder under the cover of darkness. You could be the victim tonight, so keep your friends close, and your shield closer. Blackmail and trickery are all part of the game - feigning innocence and loyalty may increase your chances of surviving the NIGHT, but will you turn Traitor and commit the ultimate betrayal in the hope of keeping the hoard of gold coins to yourself? What's in the box? 40 Gold Coin Cards 27 Action Cards 12 Night Cards 6 Traitors' Dilemma Cards Rules Booklet. How to play (and win) The Traitors card game! GETTING STARTED Create your deck of cards by using the table on page 5 of the rule’s booklet. Keep the three Faithful and three Betrayal cards to one side - these are for the Traitors Dilemma at the end. Do not include the Night cards in your deck and this stage either - these will be added in after the cards have been dealt. Shuffle the deck and then deal three cards, face down, to each player. Now, randomly slot the Night cards through the remainder of the deck, with the LAST NIGHT card at the bottom, and place it face down on the table Agree on how many rounds you are going to play. We recommend 4-8 rounds. Players take turns to pick up a card and then play a card. ACTIONS OF PLAY Once a card has been drawn from the deck, the player has 4 actions they can take Discard a Gold Coin card onto the collective hoard in the middle of the table Place a Treasure Chest card (face up) on the table in front of them to start their own hoard Place one Coin card in their chest (face down) Play a Dagger card by placing it in the middle of the table. This action allows you to blackmail another player. By doing this, you can either make them show you (and only you) their cards, and steal a card of your choice, or you can steal their Treasure Chest and any coins it may contain. The Dagger card must be discarded once played. WHEN NIGHT FALLS When a Night card is drawn, the person who drew the card does not take their turn immediately. Each player is asked, in turn, if they want to commit murder. Players must have a TRAITOR card to commit murder. Only one murder can be committed per night. TO MURDER – When asked, place the Traitor card on the table and say who you want to murder. That player hands over all their cards and are out of the game…. unless they have a Shield card. If a player has a SHIELD CARD, they can block a murder attempt and remain in the game. Traitor and Shield cards must be discarded once used. Play then continues with the player who drew the Night card taking their turn. THE TRAITORS' DILEMMA When you reach the Last Night, you must take on The Traitors' Dilemma. Only 3 players can take part in the dilemma, so the player with the least gold is banished. Each remaining player is given a Faithful card and a Betrayal card and must deliberate with the other players. Each player decides if they will be faithful and share the hoard, or if they commit the ultimate betrayal and steal the gold for themselves. ALL PLAYERS ARE FAITHFUL – players split the hoard of gold ONE BETRAYAL CARD PLAYED – that player steals the gold MULTIPLE BETRAYALCARDS – no one wins the gold Keep score of how many gold coins each player finished the round with, and then play continues with subsequent rounds. The player with the most coins at the end of the game wins.

A: The Traitors card game can take 40-60 minutes to play, but it all depends upon how many rounds you decide to play. We suggest a minimum of 4 rounds, but you can play more or less depending on how much time you have.

This has proved to be a fun game with a lot of family interaction. It does help to have seen the tv series but not essential. I would recommend watching the how to play video. I suspect we will be playing this as a family for a while.

This game is loads of fun for families. We played with 5 players for 6 rounds and enjoyed it so much we played another game straight after. Don’t trust anyone, especially the kids!
