## Description

From the manufacturer Product Description If you love the warmth and coziness of a log burner but want to make the most of your fuel and heat your room faster and more evenly, you need the Valiant Premium IV Stove Fan! A stove fan can help you save fuel, reduce emissions, and improve comfort by distributing the warm air from your stove more efficiently and evenly throughout your room. By using a stove fan, you can reduce your fuel consumption by up to 18%, lower your carbon footprint by up to 16%, and increase your room temperature by up to 38%. The Valiant Premium IV Stove Fan is a heat powered fan that sits on top of your stove and circulates the warm air from your fire throughout your room. It is a compact and sleek design that measures only 199mm high, so it fits in the tightest of spaces and does not obstruct your view of the flames. The Premium IV has a unique and innovative design that features an advanced radiating fin to generate up to 70% more airflow than competitor products. It can push out a huge rate of 350 feet a minute, which means you can feel the warmth faster and further away from your stove. It also has a low starting temperature of only 50°C, which makes it perfect for the latest cool-topped stoves. It does not require any batteries or external power, as it uses the heat from your stove to power the fan motor. It also has a thermally controlled actuator that optimizes the performance of the Peltier module, which converts heat into electricity. The Valiant Premium IV Stove Fan is easy to use and maintain. You just need to place it on the top of your stove and it will start working automatically when the temperature reaches 50°C. It will also slow down and stop as the stove cools down. It has a durable and hard wearing black anodised finish that looks great with any decor and is designed for long lasting performance. · Helps to distribute the heat generated by your stove more evenly and quickly around the room meaning you can enjoy a warmer and more comfortable environment without waiting too long. · Reduces the hot and cold spots in your room so you can avoid overheating or underheating certain areas of your room and have a more consistent temperature throughout. · Minimises the stove heat requirement and therefore the fuel cost allowing you to save money and energy by using less fuel to keep your stove running and also reduce the amount of CO2 emissions into the environment. · The unique design of the Valiant Premium IV fan offers up to 70% more air flow than competitor products with zero running costs as the fan is totally heat powered meaning there is no requirement for batteries or mains connection. · The fan operates virtually silently and features an inbuilt protection system that prevents overheating as well as a starting temperature of just 50°C and can operate up to a maximum temperature of 340°C (Optimum operating temperature 80-250°C). Dimensions: Height (including blade): 199mm; Width (including blade): 180mm; Base plate width: 110mm; Base plate depth: 75mm; Total fan depth (approx.): 100mm; Weight: 550g

Review: Well made, good value package of fan and thermometer - We've been using this Valiant Premium IV stove fan and thermometer for a few months now and are very pleased with them. Some reviewers don't seem to understand how a stove fan is supposed to work and expect it to blast out hot air like a fan-heater, being disappointed when it does not. The purpose of a stove fan is to reduce the effect of stratification, whereby aif at different temperatures settles in bands from floor to ceiling, with the hot air from the stove rising and sitting up by the ceiling, which isn't where you want it. A stove fan helps to gently break up the stratification in the room, and also helps to gently circulate the warmer air around the stove into the body of the room. It's a gentle process of moving air around, and this fan does the job very well. It's good if you have a limited amount of headroom on top of your stove, as we have, as it's a little shorter in height than many other models. It does start turning at very low temperatures (lower than the 45° stated), though the very first time we had to give the blades a wee nudge to start them off. It's been fine since. The fan turns so fast when the stove gets up to temperature that you can't see the blades, they're just a blur. The only downside of this is that the blade edges pick up any dust that's around, so you will have to give them a wipe now and again. That's true with all stove fans. We have a few friends who have used various models of stove fans for many years, and this seems as robust as any of them. Clean it gently and otherwise leave it alone to do its job and it should give many years of service. The thermometer is clear and easy to read and sticks magnetically onto the collar of the stove flue outlet, which is the best place to put it, and it's more attractive looking than some others. A thermometer is really essential kit for ensuring you are running your stove at an efficient temperature, and this one works very well. This is a good package, and the fan has good features built in such as overheat protection and a handle on top (which stays fairly cool. I have to lift the fan off at bedtime as it carries on running until the stove cools down and it was making the dog uncomfortable!) If you want a stove fan and thermometer, and understand the point of them, then this package is very good.
Review: Seems to be very efficient, very compact - Had been researching stove fans for a while, but didn't jump at buying until I could find one that would fit our stove. This is very compact, and possibly one of the smallest (according to Valiant) on the market right now. Out of the box, there is nothing to set up, just pop it on the stove, and within a few minutes, it will start to spin. If you have not yet got one, I would suggest getting a stove thermometer such as the Blue Spot stove Pipe Thermometer (less than £10) and its perfect for the job. The fan itself is not totally quiet, you will hear a whirring noise, especially as it speeds up, but its not annoying. There is a bi-metal device on the bottom to prevent it from overheating, should the surface temperature get too hot. It works by literally lifting the fan up off the hot surface, but I would remove it if the safety device cuts in. Does it work? I think it does. At first, we thought its not pushing out much heat, but it works on movement of air - convection, rather than a force blow like a fan heater. The stove might appear cooler, but the room is definitely warmer, I would say by up to 30% more. For us, that is a huge difference. The optimum effect is reached around 200 - 250 degrees C, but it works at much lower temps. The unit is fairly robust, the fan is well made, if anything the unit could be a little on the light side, but its so compact, this will fit on any stove. Its also something of a talking point, as its a mystery to some how it works.... with no batteries!!!. 2 year warranty, which is good, and I think, we'll be putting less wood on the stove, and that's what really matters.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you buy spare parts for this fan? As in a motor.**
A: If your fan is in need of a repair, you can return it to us at Valiant HQ and we can do this for you. Alternatively, we can send you a spare motor but please be aware that any repair/tampering you carry out yourself will void your warranty.

**Q: I have a double sided wood burner and the flu comes out of the middle. I only need it to use on one side, would I put it next to the flu**
A: That should be fine, i have mine in front of the flu and it works really well. I don't put it too close as there are wires on the back which might be damaged if they touched the Flu. I was surprised how good it is in distributing the heat. I am not a heating expert but it works for me.

**Q: Which moves more air around, a 2 or 4 blade fan? I read 2 blades are better... but that strikes me as counterintuitive!**
A: It all depends on the size and shape of your room. The 2 blade was designed narrow boats with the stove at the back and the fan to move air around in a tighter angel. A 4 blade is more suited to a square room as the angle of air flow is wider it will work better. I hope this makes sense.

**Q: Hi is the fan meant to be silent**
A: The fan is silent, effectively circulating the heat into the room. We can tell a difference using - very happy with.
