It also is prone to what appears to be spurious bursts of counts. All this renders it totally useless for any detection of raised background levels of radiation which is what it is sold for. But then it's cheap compared to a proper Geiger counter. I haven't used it against calibrated sources so can't vouch for its accuracy at higher levels, but then if someone had access to sources they would probably have a better counter to use.
