Is there a reason for this?** A: As far as I know it is a legal escape clause to relieve them of legal responsibility if you do it. This unit gets VERY HOT and if you heat the oil too hot before immersing a cold wet turkey, it would boil over and immediately start a grease fire. You should be VERY careful....I hope this helps. **Q: Can someone tell me the exact diameter of the main section (windshield, not the top where th pot sits)? Thanks!** A: The stove diameter is 15 inch. The burner diameter is 4 inch. The wind guard around the burner is 10 inch dia. Stove overall height is 16 inches supported on 4 evenly spaced legs. The legs can be detached and turned inwards for travel. **Q: Will this work for 15.7 inch stock pot** A: It has an inside diameter 0f 15 1/8 of an inch. The high-output burner is no joke and quickly brings water or oil to a boil in a 10 qt. boiler. I haven’t used a bigger pot yet but pretty confident it will get the job done plus some. Super easy to use and has good quality fittings and hose for the gas hookup. At the highest setting the blue flame is about 12" high!!! Looks like an afterburner! I like that the control valve is near the tank, and not on the burner. Sturdy enough for large pots. All the necessities and no frills. THAT SAID, the pressure control valve is virtually useless. It is flimsy, does not stay in the same place, and does NOT give you the ability to carefully control the flow of propane, which means you cannot carefully control heat. I fussed with it for 3 hours during a chili cook off yesterday.
