Apartment door** A: I would say no, it needs to be drilled/screwed into a solid door. That is why I had to return it, our closet doors are hollow. I would assume a metal door is also hollow, or at least tough to drive a screw into. **Q: Would this work to stop or slow down a door swinging saloon style door? They are quite expensive though, but they do include spacer/washers if you drill a little too deep, just insert a washer.
