The rod that supports this at right angles to the wall is also 11.6mm. The design is well sized to support bath robes or dressing gowns and very nicely made. A separate die-cast fixing plate is first screwed to the wall. This is then concealed by the circular backplate of the chromed hook, the two parts being fixed together by a grub screw in the lower circumference of the chromed backplate. **Q: Is this mounted using hidden screw fixings or adhesive, please?** A: It can be mounted with screws or adhesive. The adhesive is not included and costs £5.85 at present - Amazon EU (free delivery for Prime members). **Q: is this made from brass or other non rust metal ? or will this rust over time** A: It’s chrome. I have purchased a lot of items in this range and it’s lovely. Very heavy and substantial. There is no rust and would not anticipate there being any as the product is such good quality. **Q: What size Allen key is needed for the grub screw? None of mine fit** A: Not sure about the size, probably 3mm.
