How do you do that? Burning it with the lid doesn't make sense to me.** A: Hi, I already used my candle, so I don't have the directions anymore to refer to. What I remember, is that it said that the first time you light the candle, let it burn for several hours- either three or four hours before putting the lid back on, so it creates an even pool of melted wax. That is so the wax doesn't only create pits around the wicks. When a candle is burned for a short time and creates a pit around the wick and the wax on the sides (of container) is not melted, you end up with fewer total hours of burning during the life of the candle. I have several of these candles, not all are strong scented. The Santal Himalayan has very little scent if any, Citrus Mint, same thing. My favorite so far has been SEA MINT $ SPRUCE, it is strong and makes the whole house smell great. Now I am into Dark Berries and Bergamot, it is also strong a great smell going into fall. I also love Mandarin Matcha for the strong scent. If you are burning candles because you want your home to smell good then La Jolie Muse is the best, but not all scents are equal.
