## Questions & Answers

**Q: does the wheel work with all driving games**
A: The only two games I have are codemasters toca and EA Sports F1 and although the paddles don't work any more the buttons do the same job. Hope this helps, yours Kenny C

**Q: does this have force feedback and vibration on ps3**
A: I think that's only available via PC

**Q: Are the gear padels progresive so can be used for Accelarator and brake instead of pedals ?**
A: I only use this wheel for my euro truck2 and i cant configer the paddels for braking or acceleration,I dont know about other games though.Less anyone else knows.

**Q: How do you change the steering from the dpad to the steering wheel on euro truck simulator 2**
A: The Dpad being, the buttons? I don't know if ETS2 has this option because Farming Sim does, but is there an option in the settings menu to change which button/wheel/pedal does what. If so, select "steer left" (or "turn left"), delete the key, and turn the wheel left. Do the same for "steer right".I don't know if this works? :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ferrari GT experience
*by D***G on 30 May 2011*

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue PS3 configuration procedure for the Ferrari GT Experience racing wheelBy default in this game acceleration and braking are not assigned to the R1/L1 buttons {which is the case for the pedals and Up/Down levers on the Ferrari GT experience wheelProcedure to configure and optimise the wheel{this procedure only needs to be carried out once, as the changes will then be saved in the game.1. Start up your game.2. Go to the OPTION menu3. Go to CONTROLLER SETUP menu[by clicking the symbol represonting the gamepad and the D-pad]4. Configure your controller as follows;*ACCELERATE on R2*BRAKE on L2*SHIFT UP on R1*SHIFT DOWN on L1*REAR VIEW on L3 and/or R3*LEFT AND RIGHT VIEW on D-PAD LEFT AND RIGHT5. Click OK {in the lower right of your screen}6. Return to the main menu to access the track of your choiceYou should also be aware that this wheel comes with software drivers issued in 2006. When you buy the wheel download the software but DO NOT click on the DRIVERs tab. Make sure you have an internet connection and click on the UPDATES tab. The latest 2009 drivers will be installed into the software files. Alternatively if you have no connection at the time of installation then you can google and go to the Thrustmasters or Guilliemot sites and download the drivers from there.The only major problem that this wheel has is that it is not Auto-Detected in the newer PC games. All the older games of the PS2/PC DVD era are and may even bring new life to them if you care to dig them out for a nostalgia blast. To configure the wheel for the newer games you must go to the ingame controller mapping section and follow the above procedure, remembering the opening note above re the first two settings is specifically for GT5. All other games have the standard mapping.That aside this is a brilliant wheel that is defo worth more than the price and I suspect the reason is because people in the past have not updated the drivers and do not know how to work around the PC non-detection default. Bit sad but unfortunately Guilliemot have decided to focus on their more advanced wheels to combat the Logitech G25 and 27 dominance of the high-end US and Korean market for Pro Gamers and suchlike {that's where the money is these days folks}. The consequential damage of the product rep should be enough so I shall be charitable and award five stars since there are workarounds for these problems, albeit very convoluted and time consuming.The wheel itself handles well with a tougher-than-average steering resistance and comes with rubber texture at the hand grip positions. The spring-back and resistance would not make it suitable really for small kids {under 12s} as any prolonged use can be quite fatigueing on the wrists and forearm muscles. Ditto any Octogenarians out there. It is designed for the sole use of table-top clamp, not on-the-lap but takes only a few seconds to set up and dismantle.The wheel size and mounting is between the Trust Compact 3200 and the larger Logic3 Top Units though the wheel angle is more horizontal and cannot be adjusted. The pedals have natural "saturation" which prevents the digital hazard of "all-or-nothing" acceleration and braking, despite having the RJ jack. The gears selector paddles behind the wheel are default A/B but can be disassociated from A/B functions to the gear select when the pedals are mapped for A/BAll the buttons are very ergonomically placed and comfortably spaced for large and small hands. They can also be remapped in-game so you can profile on the fly. The pedals operate either in "combined" or "seperate" mode. This particular facility is too complex to go into detail about here,but operates in conjunction with the two sensitivity setting that the steering has. Suffice to say that the former is for SIMULATORS and the demanding performance requirements from the player and the latter is more suited to the casual "arcade" type driving experience.All in all I would recommend that you buy at this price but bear in mind that the manufacturers have stopped making them and the driver support stopped in 2009. But it is future-proof in that regard for at least the next three years. And yes it does work in Win 7 {all versions including the sp1}

### ⭐ think again
*by J***W on 10 May 2013*

I bought this item for my son, it arrived after 7 days. He was delighted when it came and set it up all ready. He went to play on his game and found it didn't work so I searched the internet, to see if there was anything needed to set it up properly. I couldn't find anything so I checked the box and found, empty ripped plastic bag piled on top of each other and bent bits of cardboard, this evidence leads me to believe that this product never worked and had been sent back previously. I would not recommend buying from this seller I have also not received information of my return

### ⭐⭐ Not for proper simulation fans
*by M***N on 8 May 2013*

If you would class yourself as a proper sim fan then read on (if not you might not agree with the review, its not aimed at casual racing gamers).I read alot of reveiws before buying this and didnt do my research properly like i should. It was an impulse buy and i have regretted it.For sims its poor, it has little to no resistance untill you get to almost full lock. Straight line driving into slight corners feels like your moving air between your fingers - not good, very weird and hard to feel in control of the car. This is due to the wheel not having a mechanical gearing system like logitech wheels (and hey im not comparing this to a G27, lets take the older FF EX which retailed for about the same price as this wheel and felt moons ahead of this attempt by Thrustmaster). Instead it has what Thrustmaster call a bungee system and well....yep its just that, the wheel feels like its on elastic, turn to the right or left and it pings back. Ok fine this is an attempt to get feedback / resistance on the cheap but to be honest - no, it just feels wrong.That takes me onto 'force feedback', i realise its never advertised as Force Feedback its advertised as a Vibration Feedback, so unfair of me to slate it for not having proper FF. However, alot of reveiws on here say 'great force feedback' etc.. and so deserve a slap! :) The difference between Force Feedback and Vibration Feedback is chalk and cheese with the later being terrible! honestly ild rather no feedback if it was vibration or nothing. So please do be aware this wheel does NOT have Force Feedback. To those who think it does, please read up on the difference.The quality of the plastic and wheel itself does have an ok feel to it - the grip is nice and its nice to see an attempt at paddle shifters as opposed to little buttons that some wheels use, also the peddles are alright...they do have a fair ammount of resistance and the brake peddle has noticably more than the accelerator which is good. So this is the only reason i was generous with 2 stars - otherwise it would be 1.
