This is better than your feet getting blisters. The trick to do is invest in a really good set of boot inners. Sorbothane if possible. These absorb shocks and knocks and really do make a difference. How do I know? Experience. I worked at the Post Office for a few Christmases standing all through the night. Ideally follow the example of the old experienced hands and use one of the cushioned rubber mats under your feet. Then I worked for a year in a 'recycling' yard aka council tip. Stood up all weathers in steel toe capped boots. The socks work are nice and long so go up your thighs for warmth, cushion your feet and are oversized so designed for the bigger footed person. The trick is to ensure you take care with your boots and inners.
