Well, I found out the hard way that the TPM system on my car only gives a warning when there is a serious problem. It does not indicate any problem if all 4 wheels drop 3 or 4 PSI. 3 to 4 PSI is enough of a drop to significantly reduce tyre life and I reckon I lost 10% to 15% life on a set of tyres that cost £180 per corner for mid-range tyres as I was mistakenly relying on the TPM system to tell me the tyres were too soft.Based on £750/set and typical 15000 miles for a set (I have to replace all 4 at the same time as I have a 4wd car that scrubs off all 4 tyres equally quickly), I calculated these Pressure Guards would pay for themselves if I got an extra 500 miles out of a single set of tyres.In August 2013, I had a flat tyre. I pumped the tyre up a few times but it kept deflating overnight. I checked both sidewalls and the tread as well as I could, but I couldn’t find any thorns or nails in the tyre. I eventually gave up and went to my usual tyre supplier and asked them to fix the slow puncture. It cost £7 for the repair including a new valve. The tyre fitter could not find anything wrong with the tyre. I refitted the Pressure Guard. The next morning the same tyre was flat. The only thing I could think of was to re-inflate the tyre and leave the pressure guard off. This solved the problem.I left the Pressure Guards on the other 3 wheels. In January 2014, one of the other 3 wheels went flat. This time I took Pressure Guard off (and kept it off) and re-inflated the tyre and it stayed up.I then checked the tyre pressures of the remaining two wheels that had Pressure Guards fitted and they had lost 4 to 5 PSI but the Pressure Guards did not indicate a problem.I am now back to normal valve caps on all 4 wheels.The worst thing is that I also bought a set of Pressure Guards for my wife’s car, but fortunately they have not given any problems (yet…).As it says in the title, Pressure Guards are a fantastic idea but not so good in practice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Instant tyre check *by N***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 April 2014* This item was purchased on behalf of a friend when I noticed that one of her car tyres was a bit below the correct pressure. It turned out to be 10psi low! The caps have only been fitted for a short time but it was easy to do - simply pump up to correct pressure and screw on. Auto Express had evaluated a number of these devices and Pressure Guard was the most accurate (indication beginning at -4psi) that they had tested and equal to another, but significantly more expensive device that was a (not very) remote hand-held unit. You still have to hold it near to the transmitting tyre valve caps whereas the Pressure Guard can be viewed from the same range without even bending. Pressure Guard is considerably more cost effective being only £12.50 compared to £45.00 for the "remote" alternative. I have to assume that a pressure drop will be indicated as described but, of course, it's too early yet for personal experience. Delivery was well within the specified window being three days earlier than the latest date and there was no delivery charge so service from this supplier was good too. I would use them again. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Do the job, but.... *by R***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 July 2011* They work as pressure guards, the little red bit pops up if the pressure changes, however they are much bigger than one might imagine and stick out from the wheels. This has meant that one has been destroyed by clipping the kerb whilst parking and one of the others is a bit broken and they are ugly.
