I limped by as I tried to replace it without paying a fortune and found this little guy. It does a great job with the garlic; it was flavorful and soft. I ignored the part about it being pre-seasoned and treated it as I would any good cast-iron pot, and it works great! There are absolutely no problems with this unit, unless you count a little oil discoloration on the aluminum handle, and I don't. If you've never owned cast-iron, yes, you can wash it in hot soapy water to get the dirt and debris off, but dishwashers are a big NO. Not EVER. Then, you must take a paper towel and some cooking oil and wipe a thin layer of cooking oil all over the cast iron, inside and out, and put it in a corner of the oven. Heat the oven to 350 degrees, (you can bake something if you want) then turn it off, leaving the pot inside as it cools. Wipe off any excess oil that remains with a paper towel. That conditions the pan, and it's ready to use again. It will never rust if you season it every time you use it.
