Balanced Body's website said it may take 2 weeks to receive, and desertcart delivered it in less than 8 days with one day being a holiday. Shipping would have cost $21.80 from Balanced Body and was complimentary from desertcart. It came in a box within a box (the sitting box was in a Balanced Body Box, and that box was in an desertcart box delivered by UPS). Because the item was in a box within in a box, it was well protected and there was no damage, despite the item being of sturdy styrofoam-like material. I was familiar with the sitting box because a pilates studio that I have been to has them, so I knew what to expect. The sitting box is surprisingly light weight yet extremely sturdy. Some of the other sitting boxes in studios can be quite heavy and cumbersome. I know it was easy to put on the reformer correctly, because my husband took it upstairs and promptly put it on the reformer correctly (and he doesn't know anything about them). He said it was intuitive. It fits snugly over the shoulder rests and is very stable. The sitting box is 31 inches deep, 17 inches wide and 10 3/4 inches high and weighs 4 1/2 pounds. It is easy to remove because it is so lightweight and doesn't need anything to attach it to the reformer (it goes over the shoulder rests). It gives me many more exercise possibilities of using the reformer with attached tower than just the carriage/tower alone.
