The metal seems interfere with the scanning or the ability to get the card close enough. It is considerably more finnicky to badge in with this holder. I replaced this with a heavy duty (0.25mm) PVC badge envelope (with a plastic "zip", waterproof). I've had zero issues scanning with that. Pros: it looks NICE! the fit is great. Cons: The thing I need to do with it daily (scan my badge) is much more cumbersome. Won't be using and won't be gifting to anyone at work.
