Access to either top or bottom of chimney will do just right. Only took me 20 min. start to finish for a 30 ft chimney. Sections can connect and disconnect easily. Seems to be very durable but only used it once. I only bent the rods going up my chimney about 20-30 deg. Do't know if I would bend any sharper than this. The chimney is about 30' tall. Each year I carefully pass my cell phone with video camera on to inspect the interior of the chimney. This is a great way to see if the interior is sound and how much creosote is on the sides (usually extremely little). However this year I noticed more creosote build up than prior years (perhaps burning low quality wood- boxelder, etc.). So I went online to see if I could find some type of chimney cleaning device. I spent a morning using this brush and poles on my more powerful electric plug-in drill. Most rechargeable drills would not have sufficient power. The poles are flexible enough to make it around curves. It seemed to work well and was easy to use. I did get some creosote/soot off and swept quite a bit out of the accessible trap at the bottom of the chimney. It's pretty inexpensive. I dressed accordingly, wore a mask, safety goggles, and old clothes. I'm 68 years old and found the project pretty easy... I'd recommend a professional chimney cleaning service if you have the money, if not this is a good alternative. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than I expected. *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019* Used this to clean out a 30 foot vertical clay-lined chimney from the fireplace today. Absolutely great. Suggestions to add to the packaging: Turn the heat on high and wait for a cool or cold day with no wind; the heat escaping out of your chimney will vent a lot of the dust. Tape and cover the top front and sides of the fireplace with plastic and just lay the plastic onto the floor of the fireplace. Poke a hole in the plastic, stick the tool through and away you go. I did mine with the drill on "forward" going up and "reverse" on the way down.As you are pulling out and removing the rods from the chimney, hold the rod with a wet rag and spin the rod as you pull it out, as they do get dirty. Place the rods onto a drop cloth as they come out. The rods come apart easier if they are straight, so try to take the bend out of them. I got (no joke) 3/4 of a joint compound bucket of creosote and I did cleanup with the regular upright vacuum.PS-Don't push too hard! You're hitting the chimney cap!
