The specialist bulb shop said there was only 1 bulb that would fit it and it was an old-style bulb, the only problem with this was the glass got incredibly hot in a very short amount of time. The glass owl lamp even had built in venting panels, because the designer recognised the problem. However when "specialists" say there's no solution, I am more determined to find a solution and the solution is these combined with the Mudder 2pcs Dimmable 4W E14 3014SMD 80-LED Energy bulbs. They fit the bayonet slot in the owl lamp perfectly and ta-da the lamp is perfectly cool and can be used as a really nice night light. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good, with extra care. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 January 2017* Very pleased with the product although I feel, for safety, the skirt should be deeper so to protect the fingers from the live side of the bulb's base as, depending which way the SBC cap is inserted, the visible threaded holder can be, 50%/50%, BE LIVE. Using a meter, I made sure that the live side connects to the centre terminal. To use this product you would have to remove the earth connection and make it either live or neutral .. if using this product in a metal lamp stand ,this would make it Live and will KILL you if you touch something else at the same time... The inner Brass bulb thread SHOULD NOT BE IN CONTACT WITH THE OUTER SILVER PART OF THE HOLDER...
