Most of the squid sold in supermarkets and other mass merchandisers use seasonings and other additives, but our product is made from freshly harvested squid, and is completely additive-free and sun-dried, with only the saltiness of seawater and no salt added. We use the freshest squid from southern Hokkaido, which is said to be the best in Japan, and the thick, candy-colored flesh of the squid is far different from those sold in supermarkets, giving it a different dimension of taste. The aroma that came out of the bag was heavenly. It wasn’t stinky, sulfuric, or rotten. The ika was soft and delicate yet ever so chewy. The slight saltiness comes from the ocean and not from the squid being salted. My package had eight pieces in it. I plan to make a gift of half the bag to my mother, who is from Hakodate. I can’t wait for her to try this and see her face as she realizes it’s from the city where she was born. Review: Worst tasting - Tasted old and gross. No flavor. Not a lot for the price either and they are very small. I'd say about 6" in length from the head to the end of the body.
