Review: Great fan controls - Bought several of these for different projects and they work like they should. No issues.
Review: Works Well - I'm using this to run a small PC fan off of a 12v source, and it's been working beautifully. Though it can turn the fan off and on using the dial, it also works fine if you use an external switch, which was what I needed. It just brings the fan up to the set speed when you turn it on. The dial and fan connector are good quality and the wires are the right gauge.

## Features

- This is a four-wire PWM fan speed controller. It can only control 12V four-wire fans that support PWM speed regulation. For example, many 12V four-wire chassis or CPU fans cannot control 2-3-wire fans.
- If the speed of the fan changes and the direction of adjustment is opposite, it means that the fan is a reverse-sequence fan, and the (PF) setting point needs to be short-circuited with solder, and the power must be turned off before operation to avoid damage! The short-circuited PWM signal changes in the reverse direction with the adjustment, and the reverse-sequence fan can realize forward adjustment.
- Pay attention to the positive and negative poles and the power supply voltage. After the power supply fan is connected, it can be used. The potentiometer is turned off counterclockwise to the end, and the clockwise end is the maximum output. A separate small adjustable resistor (starting speed adjustment) on the board is used to adjust the speed of the just-open position.
- Fan current 3A this current is limited by switches and connectors, and the capacity can be expanded by taking the power line separately. For fans over 3A, connect a large current fan method: the positive and negative poles of the power supply of the fan can be connected to the power supply, the positive and negative poles of the fan are connected to the power supply separately, and the negative pole of the fan is connected to the negative pole of the board; speed measurement and control are connected to the board .

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the measurements of the stud the knob mounts to?  Knob dimensions?  Looking to get drawings to use this in a CAD model.**
A: I measured mine and here's what I got:

It's a split shaft with splines to help grip the smooth/soft ID of the knob. The OD of the splines and base of the shaft measures 0.227" and the diameter at the spline root measures 0.212". The split in the shaft measures 0.043" wide. The total length of the shaft is 0.388" from where it protrudes out of the threaded mount, to the tip. The split in the shaft and the splines are both 0.335" long. I'm eyeballing about a 0.025" x 45 degree chamfer on the tip. Splines are spaced 20 degrees apart; there would be 18 total, but two are missing due to the split in the shaft.

I lost the knob, sorry.

I'm using this to run a small PC fan off of a 12v source, and it's been working beautifully. Though it can turn the fan off and on using the dial, it also works fine if you use an external switch, which was what I needed. It just brings the fan up to the set speed when you turn it on. The dial and fan connector are good quality and the wires are the right gauge.
