They can be removed completely but it is impossible to vary the height otherwise. Good bit of kit though and I use mine over glowing embers in my wood fired oven to create a BBQ effect. **Q: Does this come with the handle?** A: No handle. This is heavy cast iron and gets very hot. **Q: are the dimensions correct? It says it's 35.6 x 35.6 x 36.1 cm but it looks shorter than that, can you check? As I need to know before buying** A: Hi Ben sorry I'm working away at present but can confirm it is 14"x 14" as was on the packaging but it is only about 5" high so yeh is a bit shorter than I was expecting but actually fits better in the oven. It's really heavy and gets mega hot so make sure u have some extra protective gloves! **Q: looking for a grille to put the fire ON, but online can't tell the difference between grille and grill. Could this be used to hold a fire? Thanks** A: You could certainly light a fire on this grill. However it is intended for BBQ use.
