I recieved mine with no cover on the back. Is that right? It looks kind of unfinished** A: Yes i believe it is. I sent one back thinking it was faulty but the second was the same, its probably because it sits inside the soundhole. **Q: Will it fit on a bowl back mandolin?** A: I would say that you would have a better chance with the headstock clip on. These are primarily designed for a guitar as you are required to manoeuvre the unit under the strings and clip to the lower edge area of a circular soundhole. I have clipped them into the sound hole of Baritone Ukulele but it's not really great trying to get them on a tenor Uke. There is also a model which will allow permanent fitting via a single screw to the back of the headstock. Hope this helps. **Q: Can you put this on a banjo?** A: If you can put it on a guitar , what do you think. ? Have a look at your banjo and compare with a 🎸. I Don't own a banjo. This little gizmo does exactly what I want and was easy to fit on my guitar and works perfectly. Why only 4 stars then? Well, that's because there were no instructions included and not even a link to a website! OK, it's a tuner - doesn't need instructions. But what about the calibration button? The engineer in me thought I'd have to calibrate this against a reference because with measuring equipment that's what you do! A quick Google informed me that there is a global standard for the frequency of the note "A" and that is what the tuner is set at. Why wasn't that info included in the blurb somewhere? I then discovered that in some cases, some musical instruments may be tuned a few Hz higher or lower and this calibration button allows you to get in tune with them.
