This is a GREAT knife dollar-for-dollar than some of the higher-end Japanese chef knives on the market. I'd stack this knife up against my Shun any day which is twice as expensive. Sharpens easily and is a real work horse. If my wife and I are in the kitchen working together, it's a squabble on who gets to use it despite the fact we have several other great prep knives in the block!This also makes for a great wedding present (gave one to my nephew and his new bride) which the recipients will remember every time they fix a meal. Good "first knife" for beginning cooks and newlyweds. Pair it up with a Kota Japan 12-inch Diamond carbon steel sharpener. Out the door for about $100 for both. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You should get one, or fifteen. *by B***S on September 1, 2018* I purchased 12 of these; one for myself, and the rest as gifts to close friends; all 12 looks great, and none of them had any flaws or defects that I could notice. The blades are very sharp, the wood handles are very comfortable, and you can tell that the knife has full tang underneath the handle. I highly recommend these; in fact I ordered 3 more. If there is any negative thing to say about these, the indentations (dimples) on these knives aren't always all symmetrical from front to back, or one knife vs. another. That tells me that a human chose the placement of where the dimples go instead of a machine. The very hardly noticeable non-symmetry of the dimples does not bother me, nor is it a deal breaker for me. These knives still deserve a 5 star review, and I highly recommend them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well balanced knife that won't cost an arm *by A***T on December 22, 2017* Came in very sharp but blade is a little soft. It got a little damaged too easy after hitting the stainless steel sink. I tried fixing it and sharpening it and so far it has held ok for the first month I've owned this. The handle is very comfortable and knife size is perfect for everything.
