I use a base colour (about an inch) and my selected colour to match my hair. The best for my self **Q: Does this hair dye need developer?** A: Yes it does, preferably 6% 20 vol. Schwarzkopf do a Royal Igora oil developer, that I mixed with mine. It's very gentle on the hair. It's also a 1:1 so it's easier to measure out. For example 30ml of developer and 30mls of the dye.
