I have mine in a HP elite 800tw and it works very well. Take the cover off and check if you have a spare PCI expansion slot on the mother board, the HP web site will confirm this. Until now, I have always accessed the internet from this computer via dial-up into the AOL service. However, with AOL recently informing me that they are no longer going to support dial-up internet access for Macintoshes, I decided to buy an ethernet PCI plug-in board to make use of a Virgin-Media broadband connection.It was obvious from the description for this product that it could be used with a Mac running OS 9.1, and a quick visit to the StarTech.com website allowed the download of a wide-range of 'drivers' (1.17 MByte download for the complete set) for different Windows and Mac operating systems (see: [...]The network card arrived a couple of working days after it was ordered, and took only a minute or two to install into a spare PCI slot (obviously an essential requirement!). The accompanying instructions (in a small booklet) appeared to refer just to different Windows operating systems, so I decided to ignore this as well as to ignore the enclosed CD-ROM. After decompressing the 'zipped' download and choosing the OS 9.1 folder, I just run the relevant installer - which took just a few seconds (it insisted that the installer-folder was placed on the desktop during the installation process).After making one or two changes to the TCP/IP settings under my Mac's Control Panel (as advised by my broadband supplier), I was running my old machine successfully on broadband, with no hitches or problems of any kind.Excellent value for money!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Installed 2 of these in a box running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. Great results! *by G***B on 28 October 2015* This review is for the following NIC (Amazon seems to bundle reviews for different products by the same manufacturer together):StarTech.com 1 Port PCI 10/100/1000 32 Bit Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter CardI bought two of these to install in a box running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials.I purchased two so that I could set them up as a NIC Team.My little network consists of the server (where the cards are now installed), and two PC's running Windows 10 Pro connected to the local domain.Simply amazing what a difference they make to the data speeds over the LAN, and rather unexpectedly, all of the PCs in the local domain seem to be getting things from the Internet much faster too.I also did not have to install any drivers. Simply opened the box, installed the cards, plugged each one into the router with Cat6 cables, then set up the NIC team using the Windows Server Dashboard.There was a small amount of reconfiguration required for the static IP addresses, but the whole process took less than 20 minutes, and I have now got 2Gbit speeds over the local network.I don't think the actual connection to the internet is faster in real terms (still 16MB down and 1MB up), but the latency of the response has gone down by 50%, where previously I had 16ms ping response, it is now steady at around 8ms, which in turn makes everything actually load faster.i.e, download and upload speed is the same, but opening web pages is twice as fast as it was before.The really big difference though is when transferring files over the local network. What might have taken a minute before now happens in about 5 seconds.Additionally, if the network was very busy and I happened to be streaming music to my network music players at the same time as a large file transfer was happening, or when downloading big files from the internet, the music was occasionally stuttering. This problem no longer exists.Amazing, I'm delighted that for Β£18 I can get such a boost in performance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works with Windows 10 *by A***R on 16 June 2021* Received this card today after my motherboard mounted Broadcom chip mysteriously stopped working. It fits reasonably well into my low profile machine (an HP with a quick release expansion card header mechanism that's a bit fussy with header heights - this card more or less sits within it). I used a PCIe 1x slot.When I first started the PC (running Windows 10 build 19042) there was no network access. When I checked Device Manager there were two identical entries for "Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller" (the second one labelled #2).
