Not as Described - Update
BE AWARE.When I recieved, I was confused when several of the Adventurer functions were not available. The box was Adventurer, the Strap was the Adventurer design, but after some digging around the TomTom web site, I have discovered that the actual watch component is actually only a Spark 3 with HR and Music. Someone has clearly swapped out the unit. I suspect the average buyer will not notice until it is too late. You need to create an account and link the watch. Once you do that, you can rerieve the watch serial number.Mine starts HR which related to Spark. Adventurers all start HL.I will be returning.Incidentally, the watch is very nice in itself. The one star is for being ripped of by Amazon and more likely, some thieving scumbag.Update 11st September. After returning the fake, I took the risk again and purchased a second Adventurer watch. This time, the real item was delivered and I have to say, I love it. Very comfortable, seems very accurate and the running configurations are almost endless and for a new runner like myself, very useful. The TomTom app, which many users criticise, is actually ok, but very cleverly, allows you to auto update to almost any other existing run app like Strava, Endomondo etc so you don,t even need to use it. Music playback is good and the watch works perfectly with both sets of BT headphones I have, but it can be painful to get music onboard.GPS is super quick and accurate and the breadcrumb trails surprisingly accurate, giving a good indication on a recent 20km hike in the hills of how to get home. Results after runs almost identical to my wife's garmin 220.Similar story with HRM. Seems pretty close to my manual measurements, but I have seen odd spikes or drops in longer runs. Fine for me.Battery life is good. Running around 20k a week with a couple of long holes at the weekend and It needs juice every few days. I normally just let it charge for an hour or so whenever I hook it up to synch. The only thing I would change is the ability to have different watch face configurations. Not bothered about smart notifications but not being able to show seconds on a sport watch face seems odd. It is however, very easy to read while running. All in all very happy with watch and I would recommend.Update 24th Oct.Latest firmware update now supports smart notifications on the watch. Not perfect, but a great, unexpected freebie. New training modes released also, further improving the endless options of the watch.Love it

Four Stars
Brilliant. Ugly time display, but otherwise just fab. Tunes on the warpath.

Just rubbish
Very poor value for money, compared with other fitness watches it was like a kids plastic toy. Screen display awful, bluetooth connectivity awful.TomTom are so far off the mark with this it beggars belief!

Still getting used to it, but really has a great heart rate monitor. Will give more feedback after a few more months.

Very poor quality watch strap
The original watchstrap/band on my TomTom Adventurer started showing signs that it would break after a mere 3-4 weeks, so I had to replace it. Unfortunately, I bought it in Qatar and Decathlon told me it would take months to receive a replacement. I've now worn the replacement for about 11 months and it's got black tape wrapped around it to keep it from disintegrating.Would I buy it again? No. Would I get a TomTom watch again? No.What I don't understand is how other watchmakers manage to combine a decent watch with a durable strap/band.The watch itself is pretty good, but it would be helpful if the TomTom website had better instructional videos to help customers learn how to use it properly. For example, my Adventurer doesn't have Fitness Age on it, even though all marketing info I've read tells me that it should have this function.

Good watch with some useful and very accurate functions...
This continues the tech trend these days of not necessarily getting any smaller but certainly packing more in. It does look a bit like an iWatch and when wearing it people have commented on it as though it were. I've worn this type of GPS watch in the past (Garmin), however, this is so much more user friendly. Once out of the box and charged up you need to link it using an easy to install app, which is available for Windows, iOS and Android, the downside is that you need to register for an account with TomTom to get full use of all the features, you can also download the full user manual off the site to enable you to understand everything this watch can do. You do have to dismantle the watch from the casing to charge it though, which is a bit of a pain - it would be good if you could charge it via an NFC device. You can use it to count calories, it can tell the difference when you're running/walking or cycling, it has an inbuilt heart rate monitor which is zoned so you can get the most out of your exercise. The screen is clear, although not back-lit, and easy to read. Controlling which activity you are accessing is via the four-way touch sensitive screen. There are a couple of other neat features with this watch; you can download music onto it and also maps, which you can then use via the on-board GPS to monitor your progress around a course it also has a very accurate compass. Battery life is good, my Garmin used to drain inside 8 hours if I had it on full GPS and trail watching, I've had 7 days between charges with this TomTom Adventurer so I'm impressed with the battery. Good GPS multi watch for the money.
