Review: armour & cape are all separate so very easy to wash & I was even more pleased that ... - With yet another dress up day looming, no imagination & 3 days to spare how on earth was I going to come up with a decent outfit for my 8 year old son for Roman day??? Thankfully a friend & fellow parent had the stress free answer to my prayers..... desertcart! Having ordered this outfit on the Saturday it arrived safely & well packaged Sunday afternoon! It is exactly as seen. I was a bit worried about the Velcro & felt armour however everything stayed in place & nothing tore!! The dress, armour & cape are all separate so very easy to wash & I was even more pleased that after its wash the stitching hasn't come apart, keeping it as good as new! The price didn't leave me out if pocket, well worth the money & the look on my son's face when he saw it let alone when he put it on was all the more worth it. He felt amazing, with his own sword he felt like a proper gladiator! Knowing how amazing this was from order & cost to delivery, wear, wash & now use as dress up I will definitely be using desertcart again for all my kids dress up events. Thank you so much for making my son feel amazing & for taking away my worries!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: which size is suitable for an 8 year old please**
A: My grandson is a tall slim 8year old and the aged 8-10 fitted him perfectly

**Q: Hi does this come w a sword???**
A: No the costume does not come with a sword, but we made a sword ourselves quite easy and it looked fantastic with the costume, we cut out the shape of a sword with cardboard covered the blade end with tin foil making sure it was tight and kept to the shape of the blade, the handle we stuck large gem stones/stickers to it making it look quite regal. It actually finished the costume of and looked better than a sword you could buy in a shop. I must admit it's the first time we had actually done anything like this and we are not very artistic, the child was so pleased with his sword, have a go it gives yourself so much pride.

**Q: Would this do for Ancient Greek day at school?**
A: Yes why not heres a link to a pic of a greek warrier : https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ancent+greek+soldier&view=detailv2&&id=127A6A763B4EC5B87E35369A57E230B8268A5344&selectedIndex=2&ccid=F3RCa5xh&simid=608047407569961085&thid=OIP.M1774426b9c61fba3255ba7928058f6edH0&ajaxhist=0

**Q: will it fit an 8 year old**
A: Depends how tall your 8 year old is. My son is 4'3" and it fits him perfectly. Hope that helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Short Waistband
*by J***R on 5 April 2025*

We purchased a 11-13 for my 9 year old and although the main costume fit him fine, a little over sized, the brown shield did not have long enough straps to wrap around his waist. A bit disappointing. But the shield is removable so he went without it.
