Having spent ages looking at various options I opted for this compact 'direct drive' cajon pedal (too many scare stories about cables breaking mid-gig!). I was excited about getting this pedal and did quite a bit of research before choosing this one. I was clear that direct drive would be needed to get the response and action I needed. The superior DW pedal was too pricey, so I went for this one due to the cheaper price and option for use of toe or heel. Performance was not bad and I was optimistic - however, the mechanism makes a loud and very irritating clicking noise. I could not find any way to stop this. I still don't know if I just received a faulty pedal or this is common to all these due to design. It makes it unusable for me as I want to mic up for gigs and also use for recording. If not for this issue I'd definitely have kept it. Sadly, returned it the next day. Amazon returns process really easy and effective. Plan to try the Meinl pedal in case it works as well without the noise problem.
