I typically don’t love the age gap 𝓉𝓇ℴ𝓅ℯ (I usually get bored with it quickly) but the "ex boyfriend's dad" revenge plot and ʙᴅsᴍ bonus had me giving it a shot. And this book grabbed me in a 𝒸𝒽ℴ𝓀ℯ𝒽ℴ𝓁𝒹 and didn’t let me go - I absolutely could NOT put it down!This book was unexpectedly fun and spicy af at the same time while simultaneously combining multiple taboo topics. The MMC in this is the equal partner owner of a smex club where people are free to safely explore all their kinks and desires (this is the common theme through the entire series). And he's also the FMC’s ex boyfriend's father (yep, you heard that right lol)…so add a large age gap here and it introduces all kinds of interesting things 😜 A series of misunderstandings on introduction has him mistaking her as his new “secretary" and commands her to kneel when she arrives at his house the first time…. She is very confused at first but finds herself intrigued and following directions without protest... what better way to get back at her ex? 😏😜 and off we go!This book took me by surprise and not even halfway into the book had me convinced that I had found a new author with a backlog of books I couldn’t wait to read. And, again, the irony here is I don't generally like age gap books…Sara Cate is apparently known for writing interesting and spicy age gap and other taboo stories so I guess by the time I’m done reading her stories, I probably won't be able to claim that any longer! 😂All in all, the characters are well written, the storyline is somehow fun and new as well as taboo, the spice is 🔥 and the angst! I recommend this if you’re strictly into spicy books…My honest opinion:ConsI wish there were more plot to the overall story. Some scenes gave me the ultimate ICK so it definitely gets weird. Throughout reading, I’d easily assume what would happen next so it’s not a “off the seat eager to find out” type of book, it really is simply a buildup of sexual tension throughout both main characters & their “love story” that’s about it. I was more intrigued in the first half rather than the rest & I strongly feel as if the end was a bit rushed. The sex scenes do get repetitive so I did find myself getting slightly bored near the end.ProsThe author writes incredibly well, she introduces & describes each character perfectly so it’s easy to follow along & not get confused, she does amazing at describing all scenes & interactions even the ones outside of the spice, I would be reading for many hours bc it is interesting, I felt emotions throughout the book mainly with Charlie & that’s what I look for most when it comes to reading.Overall, I don’t think I’ll continue on with the rest of the series just because I prefer more plot & story outside of strictly spice.
