To be honest I was a bit ... *by J***N on 23 January 2018* This is a really good product. To be honest I was a bit dubious beforehand but I am so glad I took the plunge and purchased this. I have used these Neet 1080p HDMI extenders to extend Sky TV from my lounge up into the master bedroom. Using CAT 6 UTP outdoor cable (not shielded) at approx 22 metres long. Easy to follow instructions and had it set up and running within half an hour. A power supply is provided and is only needed at the transmitter (source) end. Good quality HDMI cables used, 3 in total. Don’t forget to change the picture settings on your Sky box from “Automatic” to “1080i” otherwise you may see some picture distortion. The unit has three little built in quality adjusting/booster switches which you can tweak to suit your overall cable length. We previously had the Sky operating off the RF2 output via coax cable but picture quality wasn’t overly great, with this Neet extender the picture quality is much much better ..almost like you’re in the same room as the Sky box. Good control via the little infrared probes that come with the unit. It’s working well so far, touch wood. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works perfect as an extender and a splitter. *by T***Y on 5 February 2017* I've been messing about with HDMI distribution since 2010 and it's generally been a headache..usually sync/HDCP/snow issues. It's really only in the last couple of years that I've got my setup to work to a wife friendly standard. My current gear consists of an ATEN VS482 4 port switch with (two) mirrored HDMI outputs (tv and projector). I wanted to add a 3rd display (tv in the kitchen) requiring a 20m cable run under the floor and around some tight bends (ie not suitable for HDMI run). Since this unit has an HDMI pass through on the transmitter (source end) it also acts as a 1 x 2 splitter so that was one less extra box I had to buy. I also bought the NEET Cat6 cable since its a reasonable price and puts you in a better position if you hit issues.Setup is easy and note that the receiver (display end) unit doesn't require a power supply (this isn't clear from the spec and is an added bonus) in other words it works like a PoE device.Everything worked first time although I noticed when playing high bitrate blu-ray movies that the picture on the display would flicker, After checking the manual I realised you have set the 3 dip switches on the receiver unit appropriate to the cat6 cable length. Once I'd completed this I had all 3 of my displays working great and am able to switch between sources with no HDCP/snow/sync issues that I was half expecting. Cat6 distribution is deffo the way to go on HDMI nowadays, I don't know if this is a genuine HDBaseT gadget or not but from a practical setup point of view it's so much easier to work with in comparison to doing HDMI runs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for the price. *by J***N on 30 March 2016* I'm a professional AV installer and normally spec HDbase-T products to do this job. These would normally cost in the region of £180 for a pair.Sometimes I need a lower priced alternative for cost sensitive clients so as I have used other neet products with success, decided to get a pair of these to test.They are delivered in standard neet packaging and the kit contains everthing you need to push hdmi point to point over cat6 cable.If you are not comfortable terminating cat cable yourself it can be bought ready terminated but make sure it is solid core, not stranded and fully copper - some cheaper cat6 is copper coated aluminium and is a poor cousin.The boxes themselves have a nice flat base which allows them to easily be attached to the back of a wall mounted tv and can be powered from a mains socket with the supplied adapter or from a socket with usb built in. They only need a 1a supply but you'll have to purchase the correct cable.The picture quality is as good as any kit I have used professionally but mains rf can and does cause occasional drop outs with my test pair but this automatically corrects itself within 1-2 seconds.
