It was the first modern "Long Range Aircraft" in the world. The military version was later named 'Scourge of the Atlantic' by Winston Churchill. Based on a reconnaissance version of the civil Fw200 built (but not delivered) to Japan, these aircraft formed the basis of the newly formed Kampfgeschwader 40 (Combat Wing 40). Finally in 1942 the most prolific Fw 200, the C-4 appeared. Be careful to assemble the parts in the right order and to dry fit them before gluing in place to avoid messing it up. However on reflection if a child or yes us adults ( surly there is no law that says we cannot have toys !!) then the durabilaty of the model is not in the finished product but the fun in making it, the only difference seems to be is that the child wants to try flying the thing where as the adult would prefer to put his prized masterpiece behind glass never to be touched again.This particular model excels where as well as not just having a super detailed fuselage ,but if made carefully sections on the finished model can be lifted out to show all your friends your handy work, but i don't recommend this to much because as all modelers know too well you only have to breath on these things and they will fall apart!!.I suppose that because of stupid regulations Revell have to put suitable for children over ten, every time I go to my local model (toy) shop i see little children picking up these models and shouting "Mum I want that"only to be told no your not big enough yet. Children's ability seems to be so under estimated. No I wouldn't recommend this kit to a complete beginner, and the asking price of these larger models might be a bit expensive just to keep the child quite on a Saturday afternoon, but if they have got a couple smaller models under their belts then I would not hesitate in recommending it. And parents if they cry out for help with the hard bits please give it them, I didn't have that luxury away at boarding school.
