The issue was trying to feed my arm through next to the transfer case. There's not much room for my arm. I got it in place a few times, but didn't have the leverage I needed to push the bushing through the end of the cable. Next, I tried placing a screwdriver through the top loop to pull the bushing through. Again, not enough leverage. What finally worked was putting a few thin zip ties through the top loop of the bushing. They can't be too thick because they need to pass through the end of the cable. I pushed the zip ties through first, and then pulled them through with pliers. *** A very important tip. Put the bushing through the cable FIRST, and then slip it on the transfer case. If you put it on the transfer case first, you're almost certainly not going to be able get the cable on. I didn't want to use a lubricant due to the effects it could have on the plastic.
