Apply to white backgrounds or apply a white based coat before to ensure a strong afterglow effect since dark backgrounds reduce the effect by absorbing the emitted light. 2. Do not mix the afterglow paints with other paints since standard colour paints will cover the effect. 3. Play with the application technique you are using. You can create a glow in the dark pattern by reducing or increasing the applied amount locally on your substrate. The more you apply the stronger the effect and vice versa.
