Now of course if your owners manuals says use 10w-40 do that. In checking around at some Mazda forums back when the car was new, other than the bottles of factory Mazda oil available at the dealer counter, this oil seemed to be one of the consensus picks for SkyActiv engines. The factory Mazda oil has a molybdenum additive and is much more expensive than this Mobil 1. Some suggested getting a molybdenum additive to go with the Mobil 1, however I've never done this. (Note, if you go to a Mazda dealer for a synthetic oil change, it will almost certainly come from a giant tank of Castrol synthetic or whatever. Ask 'em. I also found out what USED- Like New motor oil is, even the Amazon rep was a little unsure of what that meant but as far as can tell it appears to mean brand spanking new at HALF PRICE! So glad they Amazon does this, ends up being a way to get oil changed with full synthetic for $25 in labor. Buy the oil and OEM filter on Amazon and take to shop and leave without feeling violated; the big name oil change places charge $175-225 and dont use as good of oil as this and usually either make a mess of your under carriage or crack the plastic oil filter housing while they are at it. Amazon makes this possible with their insane buying power and competive pricing making a Prime membership worth it's weight in gold and pays for itself in this one transaction. This oil is the best there is in my opinion and for half the price that was available from the other Amazon seller, I will buy used oil every time if available. The only thing wrong with the oil is a small dent (see pic) in the bottle but otherwise it's PERFECT with a sealed cap so I know its not been opened either.
