If you just want a nice piece to display in your kitchen that isn't actually functional, this is not a bad choice for the money. The good: - The design and style is impecible - The glass portion is quality - Before they break, the grinder works well, is easy to adjust, and holds its adjustment well The bad: - The salt mill broke after two months. It did not suffer any trauma such as dropping or dishwashing. After two months a small black ring fell off the bottom of the grinder and into my food. After that, it won't dispense salt at all, regardless of the coarseness set. - The materials of the lid are not as high quality as you would hope. While the pictures show a beautiful stainless steel, that is just a very thin covering over plastic. These feel cheap in your hand. - The lids are not easy too put back on. The way they are engineered requires you to align them just right before they will seat. Each time you go to put the lid in place, you will find yourself stopping everything in your frantic dinner preparation ballet to fuss with the lid until it finally snaps into place. Overall, not a quality item. Don't purchase if you are planning to use them regularly. Not for a serious cook.
