They appear to be good quality and have same shine as my DMC threads. There are only a few (8) repeats so I’m really pleased to have such diverse colors to choose from for $10. I also received several groupings with sequential numbers which I like because it gives some slight variations necessary for transitions or gradient effects. The overall color selection was excellent and there were plenty of neutrals as well as spectrum colors (which some of these listings seem to lack).It should be noted that there appear to be 2 different types of thread in the mix - all have only 1 wrap/tag around middle of skein but as you’ll notice in picture, some have the typical DMC skew number/tag set up (virtually identical to DMC) and the others have a generic tag that is sometimes glued to the thread itself (sometimes this snagged an area on thread but was otherwise harmless).It seems to me that the threads in the generic paper are more like the polyester blend generic “friendship bracelet” skeins than the DMC quality threads - they’re shinier and seem to split more easily (and also were the ones to tangle and twist more easily when embroidering - though minimally so in my opinion). When stitched up you really can’t tell one way or the other but I know this can alter the experience for the artist and this matters to some people.I found the DMC-copy cat tags to have threads that are identical (to naked eye) to DMC colors represented (see photo with 2 skeins of “3835” - Real DMC is on plastic spool). I do not have any DMC threads with numbers I received from the generic tag grouping. But perhaps the photos depicting such discrepancies feature these threads?The listing was clear and not unnecessarily vague and with Amazon guarantee I thought I’d give these a shot for $10 and I’m glad I did. I recently gambled on a listing for Anchor threads from India (for 3x cost) and was not so lucky. I will buy these again (probably multiple times) in future instead even if it’s likely that some repeats will occur and that some numbers may not have exact DMC equivalents.
