The I used it to measure the temp of a pot of hot liquid ( I was brewing beer) it started off fine with what seemed to be accurate readings but then it stuck around 40C.so now its reporting abiant ar as 40C boiling water as 120C and the freezer as 4c. We only had one surprise when using it all day in our smoker. It times out after several hours and does not show the actual temperature until you turn it back on. We almost overcooked our prime rib but caught it in time. We could carry the receiver inside the house and it still worked great.
