Instructions say without but video shows it used with. Does anyone know which is right.** A: Without the rubber nut cover !!! **Q: can the bike be on its side stand when using this?** A: Hi Jamie,Thanks for the question.Yes the bike can be on its side stand while using the Chain Monkey.The majority of bikes require the chain to be set while using the side stand, this is specified within the manual for the bike. We always advise to check within the manual which method is required for your specific bike. Although most state to use the side stand there are a few which require the riders weight to be applied or to use a paddock stand. In short the Chain Monkey can be used while the bike is in any of the specified positions but its always best to check which position is required. Full demonstration videos with weight applied etc are also available on our website. **Q: Can this be used with a chain guard in place? As this obviously obscures the top part of the chain** A: Unless you’re Chain is completely covered with a Guard you will not have a problem, most bikes have no Guard on the lower run of their chains and this is where I use mine. I have a Chain Guard. **Q: Will this work on Harley Davidson big twins? Thanks.** A: As far as I am aware the Chain Monkey will work on any Bike fitted with a chain and with clearance for the adjuster, use it on the bottom run of the chain. That's probably a good idea. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works OK. Overpriced for its construction. *by P***5 on 24 March 2021* Firstly: I've been riding/maintaining motorcycles for over half a century. Chain adjustments a wee bit of a chore. Secondly: This piece of kit all but eliminates that chore. Thirdly: Best method is not to use the indicated lines to get the correct slack. Instead. Set your slack normally to your preference, then, attach the Monkey. Then, tighten the Monkey and make a note of the position on its scale. Then, in the future, adjust the chain with the Monkey to your own noted mark on the tool. It works well. The idea's a good one and that's why it doesn't cost between five and ten quid. I guess when the patent's up there'll be Chinese ones for $4.99 on AliExpress.
