I wanted something dishwasher safe, sturdy, budget friendly, large, and hopefully a pot that wouldn't show warp/scorch or other wear and tear with normal use. All the cookware we own are stainless steel from different brands. I assume due to user error they all currently hold those black/burn marks on the bottom. Not this one though. I used washed this in the dishwasher prior to first use and then used it on our gas stove to make a meal a few days ago. I was careful about not using anything higher than medium heat, the food was bubbling at medium since this gets so hot! This dutch oven held the food in the refrigerator for a few days and then went through the dishwasher again. It still looks brand new. I am so ecstatic! This is almost everything I wanted from my dutch oven. The only caveat is I'm not certain it is oven-safe. I looked at the manufacturer information and didn't see that it was or was not (I could have missed it). That would make this truly perfect, but I am very, very happy with it regardless.
