I want to use as much as the bottle as I can. An even better question would be, what is the largest height I can cut?** A: I got this for my gf and we were cutting just a few minutes after it was out of the box. We cut mostly wine bottles and there has not been any cut we wanted so far that the device would not allow room for. As long as you can hold the bottle steady you can make a score anywhere you want. **Q: I've seen questions about magnum-size bottles and 5" diameter bottles...will this basically cut any size as long as it's round? 12" diameter?** A: I have cut those huge apple juice bottles with is that hold a couple of gallons. I think it's safe to say that as long as its round, you can cut it with it. It really works great! But you have to use either boiling water or the candle and then icewater to get a clean cut. **Q: will this cut the bottoms off bottles? I want to incorporate the round bottoms in my stain glass project.** A: Rita, I didn't try to cut off just the bottom of the bottles, but I did cut off a 1.5 inch wall with the bottle bottoms. The most challenging is that the less amount of "wall" that you have to work with, the harder it is to keep the bottle stable as you are scribing it with the cutter. The hot/cold process worked the same. **Q: Can you make drinking glasses that would be nice enough to sell?** A: Yes. You can make beautiful glasses from beer bottles. ( There are plenty of those on the side of our highways. Great way to recycle.) I like to use the cobalt blue Bud Lite Platinum. Just be sure to use emery type sandpaper around cut edges. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/50380748-glass-bottle-cutter-machine-glass-cutter-for-crafts-thick-glass](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/50380748-glass-bottle-cutter-machine-glass-cutter-for-crafts-thick-glass) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
