Latches lock in place with enough pressure on the inside to not be shaken. Foam is high quality. Corners are clean cut with no sharp edges or excess plastic from molding. A: The odor is from the foam. It will eventually go away, just leave it open.

Purchased with a discount but have been thoroughly impressed. Rare to find a case that comfortably holds the prop guards. I also love the easy latching option here vs a case with a full wrap zipper. Handle and infrastructure seem quality. Inside lining does seem a bit loose(not fully glued down) but really not a major issue. This case still fits in my full sized backpack as well which is nice for travel.
