I purchased the recommended spikes for installation in asphalt. I had to pre-drill the holes then drive in the spikes with a sledge hammer. This method produced a solid installation. The bumpers are performing well after 8 months in an active drive-through traffic zone. I recommend them for a similar use. Note: these bumpers came with heavy duty expansion bolts for installation in concrete.
