**Q: Is it a flat pack, or ready built?**
A: It comes ready built with the exception the door glass & side handles.Be warned it is not s/steel as described, It is galvanised.This is my first attempt at smoking but I am having great success, I have smoker salmon, haddock, cheese & and ham, it worth purchasing a book or two before starting.Best of luck John lee

A: Hi, this smoker is designed for hot smoking. It can do cold smoking as well, but you need a cold smoking device for that, which is not delivered with this oven.

I very much agree with the other 4* comments. Arrived with bits fallen off but nothing broken and easily assembled, though the edges and corners are very sharp, so be careful of scratching your surfaces (and yourself). Instructions for use are pretty useless and as far as cold smoke or heat generation is concerned, you are very much on your own. You simply have a bottom box - what you put in it is up to you. Best bet for cold smoking is to buy a smoke generater where sawdust smoulders slowly. For hot smoking you could get an electric unit or use charcoal, but you will need an extra tray on which to put your sawdust or chips as there is not one supplied. If there are other alternatives, it would be good to hear from the suppliers. I recently paid £90 for mine and overall, I think that is excellent value for an all stainless steel unit. However, I see that the price has now increased to £130 and at that price, I would be looking elsewhere.

a reasonably well built smoker, easy to assemble, a bit rough on some edges watch out if assembling on laminate flooring (scratched mine) picture a bit misleading, does not come with top shelf but has 3 metal rods that fit onto shelf above great for hanging food from, bought a food cooling rack from asda for two pound trimmed it to size perfect for shelf, thermometer was broken but was not a good fit and a bit dangerous as probe is long and has a point that is about eye level when opening door, have ordered probe from another source that is shorter with a nut on rear that will secure it to door, I have purchased an electric element from another company that fits perfectly, as well as a pro q cold smoker which works very well, overall pleased with product.
