One thing I will say is to be very careful how much pressure you use when fixing them to the plasterboard with the gun. Take it easy, go slow and don't just grab a handful of gun as they will blow the plasterboard out really quickly leaving you with a hole in the wall. You will however have to flatten back the fixing lugs that would sink into the plasterboard at the rear of the fixing plate if you are fitting over tiles. **Q: I have double layer plasterboard which equal to 30mm in my recording studio. Are these gonna be long enough to penetrate all way through?** A: Hmm, I doubt it. As you can see, the wings that have to be able to open, start around 1/3 of the way from top, which would be less than 30 mm for sure. 30 mm would be more than 1/2 the total depth of these. I’d suggest GeeFix or GripIt, with latter, likely, you would need to use the undercutting tool, to create a space for the wings to open within your 30 mm depth. GeeFix are expensive, but should work on any reasonable depth, info says “cavities as shallow as 30 mm”. Only downside with both these fixings is they require a large hole, and edges of the fixings can be visible, depending on what you’re hanging and positions of screw holes. I used some of these, but did not find them that strong in my walls, hung shelves, some that hold quite a lot of weight, and only dared use these for lower screw holes. GeeFix are strongest cavity wall fixings I know of.. **Q: Would it take a 65” tv on plasterboard?** A: I’ve used these to hang heavy curtains and had no problems but for a tv I’d use them to secure a batten first then put tv mount on the batten to spread the load on the plaster board **Q: Can I use these to fix a electronic projector screen to the ceiling rather than the wall?** A: BEFORE YOU USE THESE. MAKE SURE OF THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PROJECTOR. I have hung a kitchen extractor fan using 3 of these using slightly larger washers and it is safe and secure. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value but a setting tool is a necessity *by A***H on 2 April 2023* Great value at a third of the price B&Q charge, but with cheapness comes concerns.... These need a setting tool; 1 in 4 that I tried to 'open the fan' by screwing the screw home, twisted and buckled. Leaving me with a major issue of trying to get it out and fixing the now irregular hole in the plaster board. Once I coughed up for a setting tool they have been faultless in operation. Also; check that none of the 'petals ' are bent in towards the screw (see unit on left of the photo). These are obviously packed in bulk and some petals get bent inwards during transit, and they stop the petals from opening correctly.
