The hard drillable plastic is quite thick and solid, without the brittleness you see with some plastics used in these types of boxes. They also transfer mechanical load quite well, without deformation or a lot of flex. The clear top has a hint of tinting, which is nice and looks good. The rubber gasket is also solidly installed and doesn't peel out. I also chose these because of the more industrial hinges than what I have seen on others. I love that the base plate is just flat with a faint grid, instead of predetermined hole pattern. I was able to locate my components exactly where I wanted them and drill my own holes.
